Car history: |
This Corvette is not only a survivor, it is equipped with the most powerful engine offered in 1968 (L71 427/435), along with an M21 close ratio 4-speed transmission as well as many other desirable factory options including positraction rear axle, off road exhaust, transistor ignition, rallye wheels, power steering, power brakes, power windows, AM/FM radio, head restraints, telescoping steering wheel and tinted glass. It is an original California car with its entire history heavily documented (all original documents) right back to the original registration from 1968. Also included is the original Owners Manual, Protect-O-Plate, Owners Protection Plan Booklet, Tank Sticker, and 1968 factory Corvette Brochure. The car is finished in Safari Yellow and all of the paint appears to be original. The interior is black and also appears to be entirely original. The paint is over 40 years old so expect some defects such as minor localized cracking and some chips. Mechanically, the car has undergone a thorough mechanical restoration at Corvette Village in 1991. Everything that could possibly be rebuilt was rebuilt. This includes the engine, transmission, clutch, rear axle, entire suspension, vacuum system (yes, the headlight doors and wiper door function perfectly), brakes, exhaust. The entire underside of the car was disassembled, detailed, and reassembled. Anything that needed to be repaired or replaced at this time was done. Even the frame was sanded, painted and detailed. THIS WORK TOTALLED OVER $34,000.00. I have all of the receipts and photos documenting this work. Here is the cars history: 06/68 Purchased new by Dennis M. of Norwalk, California (original registration). 05/79 California registration. Dennis M. 07/91 Dennis M. dies and car passed to parents Carl & Ozella (History sheet) 05/92 California insurance ID card. Ozella M. 06/94 Brought to Missouri by Dennis parents and sold to Rock M. (no relation) 07/94 Rock M. (classic car dealer) sells car to Junior Y. of Brunswick, MO. 07/94 California registration renewal. Junior Y. 07/98 California registration renewal. Junior Y. 08/98 Missouri insurance ID card. Junior Y. 07/99 California registration renewal. Junior Y. 07/00 California registration renewal. Junior Y. Color codes from the tank sticker. Built date is J24. 66,954 miles from the odometer. March 4, 2010. |
